It's not a great time to try selling a home in New Orleans. Zillow.com has us as one of the worst, and an expert says the reason is a long-standing problem.
"The biggest one is probably insurance," said real estate analyst Arthur Sterbcow.
Sterbcow says the high cost of insurance is discouraging buyers. And there's also a problem with outmigration.
"We really have not maintained our population growth as many other cities have," said Sterbcow. "You have more supply than you have demand, you know what happens: Prices have to go down, and we've seen that."
Sterbcow says the silver lining is that prices haven't fallen so mush as held steady, but other markets have had their prices go up.
