Two suspects are now in custody in connection with a New Orleans East homicide that happened last month.
According to a New Orleans Police Department spokesperson, St. Tammany Parish authorities arrested Diamond Ebbs, 18, on Friday. On October 31, New Orleans police arrested Mekhai Pierce, 19, in connection with the case. Each is facing a second-degree murder charge.
The two are accused of shooting and killing Manuel Jones. Police found Jones, 36, dead of an apparent gunshot wound inside a home on Bonita Drive on October 22 after they went to the house to perform a welfare check. The person who called police told them that they had not seen Jones in some time.
The case remains under investigation.
