The Bayou Classic is always a big event in New Orleans. This year is the 50th annual classic, and it is bringing hundreds of thousands to town.
"Bayou Classic is going to bring about 250,000 visitors to the city," said Kelly Schulz with New Orleans & Company, "and have an economic impact of about 30 million dollars."
That quarter of a million people will start arriving in large numbers today, and will be in town through the weekend.
"Many destinations would love to have a major, iconic event happen over Thanksgiving weekend like we have here in New Orleans," said Schulz.
The Bayou Classic festivities include a parade on Thanksgiving Day, the Battle of the Bands on Friday, and the game itself kicks off at 1 p.m. Saturday at Caesars Superdome.
