Derrick Groves, the last of ten men who escaped from the Orleans Justice Center in May, is in custody in Atlanta.
Louisiana State Police confirm officers took Groves into custody after a brief standoff Wednesday.
Police received a report that a man thought to be the jail escapee was seen at a home in southwestern Atlanta, according to WWL-TV.
A SWAT team surrounded the home and reportedly gassed the building multiple times.
Groves was convicted of second degree murder and sentenced to life in prison for a fatal shooting at a block party in 2024.
On May 16, he and nine others broke out of jail in the middle of the night. Most of the other inmates were recaptured within days to weeks.
