New Orleans men caught in stolen car, arrested

Two New Orleans men are in the St. Tammany Parish Jail after sheriff’s deputies say they caught them in a stolen car.

According to St.
Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. Suzanne Carboni, deputies on patrol spotted the stolen 2012 Toyota Camry near the Fremaux Town Center around 8 p.m. Friday. Carboni says the deputies then saw the car, which was stolen from Hancock County, Mississippi, enter the parking lot of an apartment complex.


The officers then stopped the car. Carboni says the driver, Kerry Isidore, 25, surrendered and was arrested without incident. The passenger, Louis Barnes, 25, ran away from the scene, jumped into a nearby canal, and then ran into nearby woods. Deputies later arrested Barnes after setting up a perimeter near the apartment.

The pair is facing possession of stolen things and drugs charges. Barnes is facing addition obstruction of justice, resisting arrest, and fugitive charges.
