A New Orleans native is the new number-two of United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement, deepening the state's ties to the Trump Administration.
Charles Wall started in the role of ICE deputy director on Thursday.
Wall is an alumnus of Jesuit High School, the University of New Orleans, and Loyola University Law School. He succeeds Madison Sheehan, the former head of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries who left that job to join ICE. Sheehan resigned from ICE to run for Congress in her native Ohio.
