New Orleans police say a woman is dead after a car hit her while she was riding her electic scooter along one of the city's streets.
The crash happened just before 4 p.m. Sunday at the corner of Palmyra Street and South Claiborne Avenue.
According to NOPD officials, witnesses said the woman, 28, was riding her scooter along Claiborne when a driver who was crossing the street struck her. EMS crews took the victim to a hospital, where she later died.
Police say the driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
