Gunfire sent a woman to ER early today in the French Quarter.
"NOPD is investigating a shooting at the intersection of Iberville and Royal St.," according to a New Orleans Police news release.
It happened just before 4:30am today.
"Initial reports show an adult female was shot at least one time to the body. EMS is transporting her to a local hospital for treatment."
There was no information released about the victim's condition.
An initial police report says, "he victim was inside a location in the area when she heard a commotion outside. Upon stepping outside, she heard several shots fired and then realized that she had been struck."
