Cops shut down traffic crossing the Mississippi River Saturday evening into New Orleans after a woman was shot on the Crescent City Connection.
"Police were called to the elevated highway of Highway 90 headed into the city near the Tchoupitoulas exit," Sgt. Barry Fletcher said in an email. "Officers found a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound."
New Orleans EMS took the victim to hospital.
"Traffic is currently restricted on Highway 90 near the Tchoupitoulas exit headed into New Orleans and motorists should avoid the area."
Initial reports indicated the victim was driving on the elevated expressway when someone in another vehicle shot into hers.
