Cops say a woman died after a car hit her overnight in the 9th Ward.
"The NOPD is investigating a fatal traffic crash at the intersection of Egania Street and North Claiborne Avenue," Senior Public Information Officer Aaron Looney said in an email. "A female pedestrian victim... has been declared deceased on scene."
He says it happened at 12:19am.
"The vehicle and it's operator have remained on scene."
There was no initial word on any charges.
