New Orleans police say they are investigating two separate weekend shootings.
The first shooting happened in around 8 p.m. Saturday in Algiers.
Investigators say the victim drove himself to a hospital after suffering a foot wound.
The second happened around 5 a.m. Sunday near the corner of Piety Street and North Dorgenois Street in the Ninth Ward.
Police did not provide any details about the incident. Sources near the scene tell WWL the victim was walking down the street when the suspect approached him and tried to rob the him at gunpoint. That's when, they say, the victim struck the firearm, causing it to fire and wound the victim.
Police say the victim drove himself to a hospital for treatment.
