(AP) — Parts of the frigid Deep South where wintry precipitation already has left thousands without power are getting still more snow and ice.
Travel conditions quickly deteriorated in northern Louisiana as freezing precipitation coated roads already layered with ice Wednesday.
And more and more homes and businesses lost electricity as storms spread eastward into the Mississippi Delta, where sleet fell.
A winter storm warning and advisories reach all the way from south Texas to the Washington, D.C., area.
They include most of Louisiana and Mississippi; northwestern Alabama; and slivers of northern Georgia and South Carolina.
