Newell: Democrats to blame for anarchy on America’s streets

screen grab of video of people jump on top on New Orleans Police Vehicle
WWl Radio

I'm sure you’ve seen by now the videos of vehicles doing burnouts in downtown New Orleans, and of a bunch of knuckleheads jumping on top of the police car with the policeman inside. As residents we continue to ask ourselves, why is this happening? At the same time, we are trying to figure out why individuals are choosing to shoot and kill multiple people at one time all across the country.

As Spike Lee says in the old Nike ad, “Could it be the shoes?” Could it really be that sneakers are encouraging people to engage in criminal behavior? Maybe there should be a waiting period for tennis shoes, or a rubber and shoestring flag law to increase background checks. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of the excuses!

This footage is something you would expect to see in a third world country. You get this type of criminal behavior when citizens set the bar low. When a police officer can no longer answer a call without having a mob stand in between the officer and their duty, that is a clear sign of a breakdown of an orderly and structured society. This is the product of the “Defund the Police” movement, and the Democrats are to blame.

Does anybody ever really ask the question why are we having to deal with so many young folk who want to indiscriminately kill people?  Take a look at the mass shooting that happened in Philadelphia over the weekend. Three people were fatally shot and another 11 wounded… we can’t really point out the problem because then we will be labeled as being  critical of a certain class of individuals. Instead, we have to blame it on the guns.

As for the idiot who thinks it’s okay to disrespect you, me and everybody else by jumping on police cars and damaging your property - that police car is the property of New Orleans taxpayers. But in today’s society, the moment one of these knuckleheads are thrown to the ground and handcuffed, videos would get posted saying how the police mistreated them.

Look at the events of the weekend and hear the talking heads and the sound bite politicians, and you’ll see that we are not headed to a meaningful outcome. Why can't we talk about what is really going on here? Is it that risky to dig into society and find out and find out exactly what’s actually contributing to more brazen criminal behavior in New Orleans and nationwide? If so, it would mean that we would have to admit failures, God forbid!

How much longer will we play this charade?
