The NFL is already in town for the Super Bowl.
As Superdome renovation work draws to a close, officials from the NFL have been in town to get an up-close look, as the dome will look very different on the inside compared to the last time the Super Bowl was here a dozen years ago.
"They'll be in here month to month, throughout the next several months, leading up to the game," said Doug Thornton with ASM Global, the company that handles operation of the Superdome for the state.
Thornton said the league wants to check out new stadium sight lines, and also figure out what's new that their technical crew needs to know, after the $500 million-plus renovation is complete.
Superdome executive Evan Holmes says there will be more meetings with the NFL to come to bring the league up to speed on all the changes here at the Superdome.
"We'll bring in different people to get a better sense of the building and kind of solidifying the plans," Holmes said, for the game that kicks off Sunday, February 9, 2025.
