The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office announced the nightly curfew on the Eastbank of Plaquemines Parish has been lifted, but the dusk to dawn curfew remains in effect from Phillips 66 Alliance Refinery south to Venice on the Westbank.
Sheriff Gerald Turlich says crews worked hard during the recovery following Hurricane Ida, electricity and water services has been restored on the Eastbank of Plaquemines Parish.
Sheriff Turlich has been in contact with marina operators on the Eastbank and he was assured the marinas are safe to support the 2021 Teal Duck Hunting season which begins tomorrow, September 11.
“Although we have lifted the curfew on the Eastbank of the parish, I’m compelled to remind residents and hunters to use caution when traveling on the roadways and especially through the waterways. There still may be dangerous debris in the area,” said Sheriff Turlich. “Thank you to Entergy and their collaborating companies along with the Plaquemines Parish Government for quickly getting the Eastbank up and running. A special thanks to all the residents on the Eastbank for your patience during this process and rest assure that PPSO will continue to aggressively patrol to keep you, your family and your property safe as we continue to recover from the devastation of Hurricane Ida.”
A mandatory evacuation and a dusk to dawn curfew is still active from Phillips 66 Alliance Refinery south to Venice.
