The New Orleans City Council voted to hold its own investigation into the New Year's Day Bourbon St. attack. So what comes next?
Council President J.P. Morrell said it is going to take time to get the answers they're looking for.
"I want to set expectations: we are going to act as efficiently and expeditiously as possible, but we are not on anyone's timeline," Morrell said during Thursday's meeting. "We will follow the facts where they lead, and that will take it's own time."
Morrell said he expects a lot of the answers they get to lead to even more questions, and he wants those answers, too. He said he wants the investigation to lead to a lasting solution.
