Thousands gathered on the Lafitte Greenway to take part in "No Kings 2.0." rally yesterday.
The event was part of National No Kings Day of Peaceful Action, which included some 2,600 demonstrations across the U.S. New Orleans is one of 10 "anchor cities" selected by the National Indivisible Project.
Organizers say Americans are raising their voices and making them heard. Republican leaders disparaged the rallies including House Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana who, in a briefing Friday, said the event was the "hate America rally."
