New Orleans firefighters battled a 2-alarm fire last night in Central City.
The fire happened just before 10:00 Thursday night at a vacant single-story apartment building in the 2700 block of Jackson Avenue.
According to the fire department, a neighbor said three homeless people lived in the boarded-up,
vacant building. No one was injured.
It took sixteen fire unites carrying 44 firefighters to get the blaze under control.
