Firefighters in New Orleans battled a three-alarm fire at an apartment complex in New Orleans East Monday evening.
It happened at the Carmel Brook Apartments on North I-10 Service Road.
“Upon arrival to 12345 N. I-10 Service Rd., the Carmel Brook Apartments, firefighters were directed to a first-floor apartment in building 22. This is the unit where the fire is believed to have begun,” said an NOFD report. “A second alarm was requested at 3:56 pm, as the fire began to spread through common walls to second and third floor apartments. A third alarm was requested at 4:16 pm as the fire reached the attack and began to burn through the roof. At this point all firefighters were ordered out of the building and an exterior attack was conducted, attacking the fire from above and all sides.”
No one was injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
