The New Orleans Police Department confirmed Monday that five people were shot in an incident in the French Quarter on Sunday evening.
As officers were dispersing crowds after the French Quarter Festival, police say they heard the gunshots and spotted a man fleeing. Officers chased him down and arrested him.
First responders found four victims and took them to University Medical Center.
Police say a fifth victim later arrived at the hospital on their own.
Cops booked 25-year-old Christopher Parker on charges of aggravated battery and illegal use of a weapon.
