A West End woman is facing drugs and weapons charges after police say they found cannabis, acid, mushrooms, and pills in her home.
According to an NOPD spokesperson, an officer was visiting a home on Bellaire Avenue when that officer saw Paulina Briones trying to hide several pounds of weed in a storage bin. The spokesperson says Briones, who lives in one half of the duplex the officer visited, later admitted to trying to hide the drugs because she thought the officer was there to raid her.
Officer obtained a search warrant and, according to the spokesperson, found the rest of the illegal narcotics inside Briones’s home. The spokesperson also says investigators also recovered a stolen gun and a large amount of cash.
Briones is facing five illegal possession of drugs counts, one count of illegal possession of a stolen firearm, and one count of illegal possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance. She has been booked into the Orleans Parish Prison.
