The two shootings that happened Saturday evening in Algiers may be connected, New Orleans police officials say.
Those shootings left one teenager dead and another teen in the hospital.
According to investigators, an 18-year-old male was shot to death in on Woodland Drive near Woodland Boulevard near Woodland Highway around 6:40 p.m. The second shooting happened on about 40 minutes later about a mile away on Tullis Drive near Lennox Boulevard. In that shooting, a 14-year-old was shot in the head. He remains in the hospital. Police say his condition is unknown.
A New Orleans Police Department spokesperson says detectives are working to gather evidence to determine a motive, a suspect, and if these cases are definitively connected to each other.
