New Orleans Police officers have arrested 45-year-old Rafael Rojas in connection with the attempted murder of a 44-year-old woman.
The shooting happened on February 21, shortly before 8:00 P.M., in the 300 block of Magazine Street.
According to investigators, officers responded to a call of a shooting, and when they arrived, they found the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to her head.
Emergency Medical Technicians arrived on the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries.
Rojas was identified and apprehended within moments of officers’ response.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting was a domestic assault.
Rafael Rojas was transported to the Orleans Justice Center and booked with Attempted Second-Degree Murder and one count of Domestic Abuse Battery.
