Two motorcyclists are dead and two others are in hospitals after an overnight crash in New Orleans East.
That crash happened just after midnight on Almonaster Avenue between Jourdan Road and Elaine Street.
According to the NOPD's major offense log, Joshua Stevens was speeding on Almonaster when he rear-ended motorcyclists who were stopped in the road. Two of those motorcyclists, Jeffrey Watt, 39, and Summer Gaudet, 30, died at the scene. The two surviving bikers remain in a local trauma unit.
Police arrested Stevens at the site of the crash. Stevens, 22, is facing vehicular homicide and vehicular negligent injuring charges.
