The New Orleans Police Department says it arrested a 41-year-old man Friday and booked him on a terrorizing charge after a threat was phoned into the University of New Orleans.

"At about 10:45 a.m., a male subject reportedly phoned the university. During the call, the subject allegedly threatened to burn down buildings on campus," said police in a statement. "Administration immediately contacted UNO Police regarding the incident."

The call set off an evacuation of the UNO campus, and also caused to adjacent schools, Ben Franklin and Hynes UNO Charter, to go on lockdown.

The evacuation and lockdowns have been lifted.

Police say working with Louisiana State Police and the FBI, they located the suspect, Joseph Russo, in Treme in the 2300 block of St. Philip Street. Police say they took Russo into custody without incident.
