The New Orleans Police Department announced Monday a suspect in the April 7 homicide of Darriel King has been arrested.
King was working security for Wit's Inn in the 100 block of N. Carrollton Ave. when shortly after 11 p.m., he attempted to stop a man from entering the bar.
Police say the suspect shot King in the chest and fled.
King died a short time later at the hospital.
The NOPD Violent Offenders Warrant Squad arrested 27-year-old Tirrell Gilmore.
"Through investigation, NOPD Homicide Section detectives developed and positively identified Gilmore as the perpetrator in this incident," police said.
