The New Orleans Police Department arrested a 15-year-old suspected of murdering a 14-year-old last month, at the intersection of Washington Ave. and LaSalle St.
"At about 7:35 p.m. on April 19, NOPD Sixth District officers responded to the location and found a 14-year-old juvenile teen male having sustained a gunshot wound," said police. The victim died the next day.
"Through investigation, Sixth District detectives positively identified the 15-year-old juvenile as the perpetrator and obtained an arrest warrant on a charge of second-degree murder," said police "Additionally, the juvenile was found to have active arrest warrants out of the Seventh District."
The NOPD says during a traffic stop yesterday at Jackson Ave. and Rev. John Raphael Jr. Way, one of the officers identified the 15-year-old as a passenger in the vehicle, and arrested him.
The teen was booked into the Juvenile Justice Center for second-degree murder, armed robbery, illegal use of a firearm, and two counts of motor vehicle theft.
