The New Orleans Saints are just days away from the start of organized team activities that lead up to the start of training camp, but there are still major questions swirling about the futures of several fan-favorite players.

DE Cam Jordan and QB Taysom Hill remain unsigned, while RB Alvin Kamara is under contract, but with the team remaining noncommittal on whether he'll be back in 2026. Saints GM Mickey Loomis spoke to all three players briefly when addressing the media ahead of the annual Saints Hall of Fame Golf Tournament. He also spoke to the status of any contract extension for star WR Chris Olave.

Cam Jordan and Taysom Hill

Loomis said there has been a contract offer presented to Jordan's camp and that conversations have been productive. There is still an opportunity for the longtime Saints DE to return, though it remains unclear in exactly what role that would be.

The Saints GM added that the same is not true of Hill at this stage, and a reunion on that end would require more communication. He said there is no timeline for either player, specifically.

"Those guys have earned the right for self-determination," Loomis said. "So we’re not going to put any deadlines on anything.”

Alvin Kamara

The longtime Saints RB remains under contract, but neither Loomis nor head coach Kellen Moore has affirmed any concrete plan as to whether Kamara will be back in 2026. The Saints also signed RB Travis Etienne to a big free agent contract earlier this offseason.

Kamara spoke previously this offseason and indicated that he planned to return, and has previously stated that he had no interest in being traded. Loomis noted that there has yet to be any reworked contract presented to Kamara for his consideration.

“We’re just trying to see how he’s going to fit in our roster," Loomis said, "and obviously there’s a resource management element to it, and we’ll get to that over the next week or two.”

The Saints begin their first set of optional OTAs on May 27. Kamara has traditionally not been in attendance until the mandatory veteran minicamp in June.

Chris Olave

The Saints already picked up Chris Olave's 5th year option, meaning he'll be with the team through at least the 2026 season. The two sides have been talking about a potential extension dating back to last season, but that has yet to come to fruition. Olave is coming off a season where he appeared in 16 games and set career highs in targets, catches, yards and touchdowns. Loomis said the start of the regular season creates a deadline of sorts, but that can vary by situation. He did make clear that talks have been positive.

“The urgency becomes ... when the games start, so I think that’s just the natural course of things," Loomis said, "but obviously we’d love to have something done sooner than that and I’m sure Chris would as well, but we’re not there yet.”
