New Orleans police are searching for a suspect who struck an NOPD officer with a car while trying to flee a crime scene.
According to an NOPD spokesperson, it happened around 5:10 p.m. Thursday on North Claiborne Avenue at Poland Avenue.
Officials did not say what type of call the officer was respond to when he was struck. Investigators have set up a perimeter in the area as they continue to look for the vehicle.
The westbound lanes of the Claiborne Bridge are closed while officers investigate. Drivers are urged to take an alternate route.
