Police in New Orleans investigate a murder that happened today in the 7th Ward.
An NOPD report says, “Officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the 2200 block of North Claiborne Avenue, at or around 6:22 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim outside lying on the ground suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the body. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS.”
Detectives are working on gathering evidence to determine who may be responsible for the fatal shooting.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine an official cause of death and release the victim's name, once an autopsy is completed and the family is notified.
