The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a traffic fatality at the intersection of Benefit and Allen streets.
"At around 7:11 a.m., NOPD Third District officers responded to the location and found a damaged Dodge truck with a deceased adult male inside. The initial investigation has revealed that the driver of a truck was heading northbound on Benefit Street when, for unknown reasons, he left the roadway near the I-610 on-ramp. The vehicle traveled several feet, crashed into a pole, and flipped before coming to rest under the highway bridge," says an NOPD report.
No further details are available as the investigation is ongoing.
