The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that happened in Algiers just before noon on Thursday.
“Around 11:57 a.m. Fourth District officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 1600 block of Newton Street. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound,” says an NOPD report.
The victim died at the scene. No further information is currently available.
