New Orleans Police homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting at an Algiers intersection, that also sent a baby to the hospital with a gunshot wound.
Police say shortly before 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, officers were sent to investigate a call of a man shot at the intersection of Kabel and Gen. de Gaulle drives.
"Upon arrival, officers found a male victim inside of a vehicle in a parking lot in the 3400 block of Kabel Drive and having sustained multiple gunshot wounds," said police. "The victim was declared deceased at the scene."
About an hour later, NOPD received new information that revealed more victims: a baby girl and an adult woman.
"Both arrived at a local hospital via private conveyance, with the infant female having sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound to the leg," said NOPD spokesman Aaron Looney. "The adult female was not injured."
