The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a homicide in the Fairgrounds area.
"Third District officers responded to a report of a shooting incident shortly before 1:40 p.m. today in the 1800 block of Gentilly Boulevard," said Barry Fletcher in the NOPD Public Information Office. "Officers found a male victim inside a white-color SUV who was suffering from a gunshot wound."

Callers to Crimestoppers do not have to leave their names and may be eligible for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.
