The New Orleans Police Department says a man was shot in the foot in an incident in Algiers Saturday afternoon.
"NOPD Fourth District officers received notification that a male subject had sustained a gunshot wound to the foot and had subsequently to a local hospital via private conveyance," according to the notification from the NOPD Public Affairs division.
The shooting happened at the intersection of L.B. Landry Drive and Newton St. The NOMTOC parade passed by that location earlier in the day.
Police said no additional information is currently available.
