NOPD investigates two Fourth of July armed robberies

The NOPD is investigating two separate armed robberies in New Orleans that happened during a busy Fourth of July holiday.

The first happened at about 2:14 a.m. in the 5200 block of N. Claiborne Street.


According to police, the male suspect demanded the male victim's key to his Red Cadillac. The victim complied and the suspect fled in the victim's vehicle in an unknown direction.

The second armed robbery happened at about 10:37 a.m. in the 7100 block of Downman Road.

Police say the male victim was attempting to purchase a firearm from the two male suspects, but then they pointed a gun at the man and took the victim’s money. The suspects then fled in an unknown direction according to the police report.
