The victim was walking in the lower 9th ward near Rampart and Gordon streets.
When he says he was approached by two black males and while one produced a gun, they then began to beat him with a crowbar.
After going through the victim's pockets, the two assailants fled with the victim unable to confirm in which direction they ran.
The victim was transported to a local hospital. No other information is available at this time.
