The New Orleans Police Department is searching for answer about the death of a person in New Orleans East.
According to the NOPD, officers received the call from the corner of Read Boulevard and Chef Menteur Highway just before 1 a.m. Thursday.
Initially, authorities reported the case as a fatal car crash. Nearly two hours after receiving the initial call, investigators changed the signal for that call to an "unclassified death." The victim's identity has not been released. A spokesperson did not provide any further details about the case, saying only that the death remains under investigation.
