The New Orleans Police Department is investigating the city’s second and third shootings in less than 24 hours.
According to NOPD spokesman Garry Flot, officers were called to a hospital around noon when two men suffering from gunshot wounds went to the medical facility. Flot says no other details about the case are known now.
Nearly three hours later, NOPD officers responded to a call of a shooting on St. Bernard Street near North Rampart Street. Flot says a man was shot in the leg just before 3 p.m. No other details about this case are available.
These are at least nine shootings in New Orleans this weekend.
At least three people have died in those shootings.
