NOPD issues arrest warrant in Gentilly Blvd. homicide investigation

The New Orleans Police Department announced they have an arrest warrant for Sandra Jimerson in the investigation of a domestic homicide that happened on Saturday in the 3800 block of Gentilly Boulevard which left one person dead.

“At about 12:42 p.m., NOPD Third District officers responded to a report of an aggravated battery by shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers entered a residence and discovered two subjects in the residence. One subject – an adult male – was found to have sustained a gunshot wound and was declared deceased on the scene.
The second subject – an adult female – was not found to have sustained injury and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation,” says an NOPD report.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will officially identify the victim and determine the cause of death upon completion of the autopsy and notification of the family.

The report says through investigation, NOPD detectives identified Jimerson as the perpetrator in this incident and determined the incident to be domestic in nature.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Jimerson on one count of domestic second-degree murder.

Once she is released from medical treatment, Jimerson will be booked accordingly into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.
