The New Orleans Police Department made a quick arrest in an Algiers homicide that happened this morning.
“Around 1:19 a.m. Seventh District officers arrived in the 4900 block of Oled Drive to search for an adult female victim that was reported to have been fatally shot. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult female victim suffering from a single gunshot wound,” said the initial NOPD report.
The victim, a 47-year-old female, died at the scene.
Police say 25-year-old Kimberly Franklin surrendered to police custody shortly after the homicide. Franklin was subsequently arrested on one count of second-degree murder.
