NOPD seeks car that may have struck, killed pedestrian

Suspect Vehicle
New Orleans Police Department

Investigators have identified a car that may have been involved in a deadly hit-and-run on the edge of downtown New Orleans over the weekend.

That crash happened around 7 p.m. Saturday on U. S. 90 Elevated near Earhart Boulevard.

According to investigators, a white Dodge Charger struck a man who was walking along the road with his bicycle from behind and sped away. That vehicle, a white Dodge Charger, drove towards Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard before going west on South Claiborne Avenue.

The pedestrian died at the scene.

Detectives say the Charger has a black hood and would have damage to the driver-side headlight and a missing driver-side wheel flare.

If you recognize this car or have any other information, call the NOPD at 504-658-6210 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
