New Orleans Police say a death discovered last week turns out to be a homicide.

Police were called on September 4 for a wellness check on a man in the 1400 block of Elysian Fields Ave. shortly after 11 a.m. Officers arrived to find 46-year-old Christopher Cross unresponsive on the floor of the residence. EMS arrived and pronounced the man dead.

An autopsy revealed the cause of death to be a gunshot wound.

Police say anyone who has information should call NOPD Homicide at (504) 658-5300, or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111 or toll free at (877) 903-7867 (STOP).

Callers to Crimestoppers do not have to leave their names and may be eligible for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.
