An hours-long stand off between a man barricaded inside a Holy Cross home and New Orleans Police officers, ends after a SWAT team was deployed.

It started Wednesday evening in the 400 block of Tricou Street. NOPD officers were responding to a call of a man with a gun at the address. When they arrived they were confronted by the man, later identified as Michael Clark Jr., who refused to leave the home and fired his gun at officers.

No one was shot by the gunfire but after he barricaded himself inside the home and attempts by police and Clark's family to talk him into coming out failed; the police department responded by deploying a SWAT team.

“The barricaded subject in this incident has surrendered to police without further incident. He was taken into custody at about 11:18 p.m.,” said a spokesperson for the NOPD.

Neighbors report they heard a loud argument outside the home an hour before hearing gunshots and the police arriving.
