The New Orleans Police Department says it has obtained an arrest warrant for a 15-year-old boy in the homicide of another 15-year-old that happened Monday night.
The shooting happened just before 9 p.m. on February 13. Officers arriving on the scene at St. Roch Ave. near Abundance St. learned that the victim, a 15-year-old boy, had been taken to the hospital already. The teenager died a short time later.
WWL-TV reports family members identified the victim as Tyler Ellis, a 15-year old Freshman at Warren Easton High School.
Police say they believe the killing was not intentional. The arrest warrant alleges one count of negligent homicide.
