The New Orleans Police Department is investigating the city’s third shooting of the day.
The latest happened on St. Louis Street near North Tonti Street in the Tremé near the Lafitte Greenway.
According to a New Orleans Police Department spokesperson, two victims, both suffering from gunshot wounds, arrived at a local hospital around 7:30 p.m. Police say those victims, identified only as a woman and a 14-year-old girl, are stable in the hospital.
The spokesperson says investigators have learned that the woman and the teen were shot when an unknown person came upon a group and began shooting a gun. Initially, the spokesperson said three people had been shot, but that number was later corrected to two victims.
