A woman is dead after a Memorial Day shooting in Algiers.
According to New Orleans Police Department spokesperson Reese Harper, the shooting happened around 4:45 p.m. Monday on Casa Calvo Street near De Armas Street, about a block off General Meyer Avenue.
Harper says the victim was shot at least once in her body. The victim was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
Investigators are treating the case as a homicide.
