Northshore cops catch repeat porch pirates

Theft
Slidell PD

Slidell Police say they have busted a group of Mississippi teens for stealing packages from people's porches.

"These pirates were blown out of the water!" Chief Administrative Officer Daniel Seuzeneau said.

The investigation began when a resident called Slidell Police to report seeing three people in a blue BMW sedan pull in front of a home and take several Amazon packages.

"The witness lost sight of the BMW as it fled the area, but an observant Slidell Police officer quickly located the vehicle."

Seuzeneau says three male juveniles from Mississippi were in the car that also contained a bunch of stolen packages.

The boxes came from several different addresses in the Slidell area.

"It doesn’t stop there. Officers also located a hand-written note, which contained a devised plan to commit some type of robbery."

All three juveniles are charged with multiple counts of theft and criminal conspiracy.

"All were locked down at the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center."

Seuzeneau says most of the stolen packages were returned to the rightful owners.

"Some of the packages were opened and unable to be matched to an address... If you believe your package was stolen, first contact the original company from which your package was ordered, and once they confirm your package should have been delivered and is suspected to be stolen, contact Slidell Police."
