Two people were shot in the middle of the day in the 7th Ward, one of the victims has died according to the New Orleans Police Department.
It happened at 11:45 a.m. in the 1700 block of North Derbigny Street. Initial police reports show two victims sustained gunshot wounds in this incident. One victim has been declared deceased on scene by EMS, while a second victim was transported to a local hospital. The condition of the second victim is unknown at this time.
Police did not disclose the identity or the ages of the victims at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
