One person is in the hospital after being shot on Interstate 10 just past Bonnabel Boulevard.
That shooting happened around 2:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes just past Bonnabel about a half-mile before the Jefferson/Orleans Parish line and the I-10/I-610 split. The shooting resulted in a two-vehicle crash that tied up traffic to near the Loyola Drive exit.
At least 10 law enforcement units were on scene when this reporter passed the area. Officers from the East Bank Levee Police and Jefferson Parish sheriff’s deputies responded to the incident.
The JPSO has not yet released any specifics about the crash. However, WWL-TV reports that the victim is an adult who is now stable in a local hospital.
